The “Supporting poor teachers in remote and mountainous areas” fund gives priority to young, ethnic minority teachers dedicated to working for future generations.

ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE “SUPPORTING POOR TEACHERS IN REMOTE AND MOUNTAINOUS AREAS” FUND.

The Tan Tao Group has established 3 welfare funds: the Ita-Foundation for “The Future” supporting poor students through their studies; the Ita-Foundation for “Healing Sorrows” reserved for disabled war veterans and those suffering from the after-effects of disasters; and the Ita-Foundation for “Overcoming Illness” aimed at supporting poor patients who cannot afford medical treatment. These Ita-Foundations function on a regular basis and were officially launched on 30th September 2007 with a total value of VND 21 billion. In addition to the previously cited Ita-Foundations, on the Vietnam Greeting of Teacher’s Day of 20th November 2007, the Tan Tao Group formulated the programme “Supporting poor teachers in remote and mountainous areas” in order to bring greater financial assurance to teachers in their professional duty. The programme was formulated as a message of gratitude from the Tan Tao Group to all teachers nationwide. During the application process representatives from the Tan Tao Group will undertake personal field visits to determine the needs of teacher’s and will provide the appropriate help upon approval of their recommendations.
Sponsorship criteria and regulations:
1. Teachers who, despite personal difficult situation, endure and obtain high levels of achievement in teaching.
2. Teachers who apply for the programmes must display excellent levels of teaching for at least 3 consecutive years, or, good teachers for 5 consecutive years.
The “Supporting poor teachers in remote and mountainous areas” fund gives priority to young teachers and ethnic minority teachers dedicated to future generations.
