American professors work with the Vietnam Association of non-State universities and colleges

The working session

On August 5, a delegation of American academics worked with the Vietnam Association of non-State universities and colleges on the University of Southeast Asia of the Tan Tao Group at the Southern Education Ministry Office.

The delegation was comprised of Ph.D. Ray M. Bowen, Honorary President of Texas A&M University; Dr. Water V. Wendler of Southern Illinois University; Dr. Mark S. Schieid, Senior Fulbright Specialist; Andy MacPhilimy of Morris Architects (U.S).

They met and exchanged with Professor Dr. Tran Hong Quan, former Education Minister and present Chairman of the Vietnam Association of non-State universities and colleges, Dr. Nguyen The Cuoc, Vice-chairman, Dr. Le Khac Uy, Vice-chairman and Principal of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages & Informatics, and Tan Tao Group ‘s executives.

At the meeting, Professor Dr. Tran Hong Quan introduced to the delegation the activities of the Association and its ongoing projects nationwide. He also talked about difficulties faced by newly established universities in Vietnam, especially their teaching staffs but believed in the development of the University of Southeast Asia in future.

The working session

The American professors also recognized numerous advantages of the UOSA as it is located not far from the central Ho Chi Minh City with huge labor demand for skilled employees. Therefore, upon completed, the UOSA will provide high quality workforce to the country and the region.
