ITA GROUP signs equipments supply agreement for Kien Luong power plant

The signing of cooperation agreements between the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Russian Federation

During an official visit to Russia, the Vietnamese State President Nguyen Triet received the Russian Communist Party‘s Chairman Gennady Zyuganov and attended the Vietnam-Russia Business Forum.

In his speech at the Vietnam-Russia Business Forum in Moscow, the Vietnamese State President said: “Vietnam is eternally grateful to the people of the former Soviet Union and current Russia for what they have done for Vietnam. Vietnam will strive to provide favorable conditions for Russian businesses to operate in the country.”

The two countries have agreed on the need to further broaden bilateral co-operation in a number of important areas to bring long-term benefits to each country.

Following the forum, under the witness of the Vietnamese State President, Chairwoman of the ITA GROUP and a Russian company signed an equipment supply contract for the Kien Luong thermal power plant, the largest thermal power plant to be built in Vietnam.

ITA GROUP‘s Vice-president previously affirmed that on this occasion, the Group would seek long-term business cooperation opportunities with Russian companies, including coal import contracts to assure supply of adequate coal to the Kien Luong plant which is projected to consume at least 12 million ton of coal per year upon full operation.
