Tan Tao Group and Kien Giang Province announces Master Plan of Kien Luong Power Centre

On September 17, 2008, Tan Tao Group ‘s representative and the People ‘s Committee of Kien Luong District held a public meeting with local people to announce the Decision approved by the Ministry of Trade and Industry on the Master Plan of the Kien Luong Power Centre at the District Hall in Kien Giang province.

According to the Decision, the 556 ha Kien Luong Power Centre will be located at Ba Hon village, Kien Luong town with an expected capacity of 4,400 – 5,200 MW composed of 3 traditional coal-fired plants.

Under the Decision, the Ministry of Trade and Industry assigned the ITACO as main investor to coordinate with the Kien Giang People‘s Committee to deploy the construction of common infrastructure of the Power Centre and to conduct land compensation and site clearance. Concurrently, the investor is required to discuss with the Ministry of Communication and Transportation about the planning method of specialized ports of the Kien Luong Power Centre and the Nam Du entrepot seaport to ensure the transportation, storage, loading and supply for the Kien Luong Power Centre.

Right after the announcement, the local authority will carry out survey and determine land price for compensation and resettlement for residents.
