American business delegation visits Tan Tao Industrial Park

On the afternoon of July 3, 2008, representatives of Intel Corporation and from the Board of Management of Porland State University (US) came to visit the Tan Tao Industrial Park.

The delegation comprising Mr. Rick Howarth, President of Intel Vietnam; representatives of Board of Management of Porland State University; Mr. Do Viet Ha, Steering Committee ‘s secretary of human resources training of the Ministry of Education and Training; Ms. Ho Thi Thu Uyen, foreign relation director of Intel Vietnam company were warmly welcomed by Mr. Thai Van Men, President of Tan Tao Investment & Industry Corporation and Ms. Le Luu Huyen Thanh, Vice-president.

At the meeting, they were given an introductory talk concerning the 11 years of development and construction work of the Tan Tao Group, its socio-economic achievements, and its national projects underway across the country.

In particular, the meeting discussed a model for the University of Southeast Asia (UOSA) of the Tan Tao Group. In the future, the university will provide human resources for countries in the region and around the world in accordance with the wish of its founder – businesswoman Hoang Yen: “The University of Southeast Asia will be renowned for its teaching, research and services. This top-tier private university will provide educational opportunities, spur Vietnam‘s economic growth and recognized as a desirable destination for students all over the world.

Intel Corporation was founded in 1968 as Integrated Electronics Corp. in Santa Clara, California, USA. Intel manufactures motherboard chipsets, integrated circuits, flash memory, network cards and other devices related to communication and computing. On this occasion, Intel Corp. and Porland State University desired to incorporate and support educational technologies, teaching facilities and syllabuses with the University of Southeast Asia in the training process of human resources in Vietnam.
