In the morning of December 27, 2008, the groundbreaking ceremony of Liksin Corporation‘s Production Complex took place in the Tan Duc Industrial Park, Duc Hoa district, Long An province.

The 2x600MW Kien Luong coal fired power plant stage 1 is a power source investment project included in the National Power Development Master Plan for the period 2006-2015, in perspective of 2025.

The Managing Board of Tan Tao University (TTU) gathered on December 18, 2008 in Houston, USA to discuss operating plans for Tan Tao University in the upcoming time. The Managing Board of Tan Tao University are composed of Ms. Dang Thi Hoang Yen, Chairwoman of the Board of Trustees of the TTU; PhD. Mark Sheid, President of the TTU ; PhD. Vo Tong Xuan, Vice-president of the TTU and PhD. Malcolm Gillis and Dr. Andy MacPhillimy.

On December 16, 2008, the Finance Ministry sent the Document No.15339/BTC-TCDN of credit guarantee for the 2x600 MW Kien Luong Thermal Power Plant to the Government Office to express its opinions on the recommendations of the Tan Tao Investment & Industry Corporation. The Document No.556/CV-03 dated November 1, 2008 concerning the foreign loan guarantee to invest in the Kien Luong 1 Thermal Power Plant and Nam Du Port.

On December 10, 2008, the ITA Group held a conference at the Rex Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City to announce international EPC contractors interested in participating in competitive bidding for Kien Luong Power & Port Center in stage one which is invested and led by the ITA Group.

The conference contained international and Vietnamese consulting entities including Black & Veatch, FHDI, PECC2 and strategic partners International Power Corporation (Britain), Sojitz & Kyushu Corporation (Japan) and international EPC contractors.

The Chairman of the People ‘s Committee of Quang Ngai province has approved the Tan Tao Investment & Industry Corporation (ITACO) of undertaking the project of the infrastructure construction and business for Pho Phong Industrial – Residential and Service Complex in Duc Pho district.

On November 28, a Ceremony to announce the Detailed Scheme and granting Investment Certificate for the Vina Universal Paradise Son Tinh Commerce – Service Area Project was held by the Vina Film Studio – Tourism Area Corporation was held in coordination with the Son Tinh district People‘s Committee and the Investment Promotion Centre of Quang Ngai province at the Culture, Information and Sports Centre of Son Tinh district.

From November 21 to 23, 2008, the Asia-Pacific Leaders’ Summit was taken place in Lima, Peru with the focal discussion of the current global financial meltdown and the pledges of countries.

The Vina Universal Paradise Commerce - Service Zone Project of the ITA Group was granted the Investment Certificate N0.3412100036 on November 18, 2008 by the People’s Committee of Quang Ngai province.
