Handicapped Children Bring Tears of Joy to Proud Parents.
1 February, 2008. Ms. Le Luu Huyen Thanh, Vice-President of the Vietnam-US High Technology Joint Stock Company (Milky US) of Tan Tao Group, visited and offered Tet presents to the District 4 Center for Disabled Children. Ms. Le Luu Huyen Thanh also attended Lunar New Year greeting performances in the Center.
Tears were shed by members of the audience as children from the centre gave heart-felt performances to welcome in the new lunar year.
The children at the Centre suffer from a range of afflictions including learning difficulties, reduced mobility, epilepsi, malnutrition, down syndrome, reduced vision and difficulties with hearing.
The Center for Disabled Children in District 4-Ho of Chi Minh city was established in 1989. The centre is run by the Buddhism Association which offers treatment, rehabilititation, healthcare services, education and vocational training to the disadvantaged children.

Last year, the Center looked after and provided education for 90 children. Among these, 32 children suffered from severe learning difficulties. For many of these children the performance was a huge achievement which they had been looking-forward to for many weeks. Parents overcome with pride for their childrens' achievement were unable to hold back their tears. The charity continues to work towards relieving the suffering of disadvantaged children. The charity also provides projects to help integrate the children into the community. .
