Song Tan breaks into the Market.

The small workshop of Song Tan went into operation in 2000. After two years it had become a large factory with a full weaving-dyeing line. The factory now covers a total area of 5,000 square meters in Lot 18-19-20, Road 2, Tan Tao Industrial Park.

With over 100 workers, 15 engineers and mangers, as well as other advanced machines and facilities, it has the capacity to produce 1,500,000 meters of Check-Stripe, 2,000,000 meters of plain fabric, and 1,000,000 meters of printed fabric every year.

According to the management board, the firm not only complies with environmental protection standards and builds sewage treatment plant, but it is also committed to guarantying its workers’ interests and social welfare.

The business is in fact currently expanding capacity. It is achieving this through meeting all quality criteria of exports, updating technical standards and improving technology, solving financial problems, and training human resources. As a result of this new improved capacity, Song Tan now exports 70 per cent of its products to the EU, 13 percent to Australia, and 2 percent to US markets.

The firm’s standing in the domestic market has been established through regular orders to resorts and other organizations across Vietnam.

Song Tan is continually diversifying and enhancing the quality of its products in order meet customers’ expectations. Furthermore, it is one of the few domestic companies producing high quality fabrics for both indoor and outdoor decoration. The company also exports in co-operation with other partners.

Subject to the customer’s orders, the fabrics can be treated with added substances which render them resistant to water, fire or ultra-violet light.

In terms of price, Son Tan’s products are currently competing with those from China. “We are always innovating new methods of production which will give us the edge over our competitors”, said Director Hoang Quoc Be.

With an aspiration to further develop traditional family businesses, Be has imparted his enthusiasm, passion, and dedication to his children. At present, the two of them are members on the managing board of the firm. However, with the motto “a brand name built on quality and prestige”, Be is committed to promotion on the basis of merit within his company.
