Bid opening ceremony "EPC package for Kien Luong 1 Power Plant Project" has been held by ITA Group, at No.186 Le Lai, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, in the afternoon of August 3rd, 2009. This is the project of Kien Luong thermal power Center project
Attending the ceremony were Mr. Duong Xuan Tung, deputy director of general department in Government Office, Mr. Pham Minh Hung, Department of Industrial Economics, Ministry of Planning and Investment, Mr. Hoang Kim Chieu, Deputy Representative Chief of Justice Ministry in Ho Chi Minh City, together with representatives of others Departments. Representatives of the Owner were Mrs. Dang Thi Hoang Yen, chairwoman of ITA Group, Mr Nguyen Minh Tuan, Deputy Director and Mr. Bui Duc Nam, CFO of ITA Group, representatives of International Power Group together with foreign and domestic consulting representatives.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mrs. Dang Thi Hoang Yen expressed her expects to cooperate with bidders in long-term to build and put the plant into operation in accordance with progress of the project in 2013. She added that Kien Luong 1 Power Plant with the capacity of 1200MW, including 2 machine squads of 600MW with the total output of electricity annually about 7.8 billion KW / h, is expected to start ground breaking in Quarter 4 this year. This is the coal burning power plant applied modern, advance technologies with the chimney height of 210m to meet criteria for the environment. The electricity system of the plant will be connected to the national electricity system in both 220KV and 500KV, contributing to solve the current electricity hunger problem in Vietnam.
"EPC package for Kien Luong 1 power plant" is the great value one of Kien Luong thermal power center, one of the largest power projects in Vietnam which was granted the investment licence by Kien Giang province and given credit guarantee by Government.

The bid opening ceremony was seriously conducted in the order stipulated by law. The consulting units on behalf of the bidding consultancy have committed to the owner and bidders that they will complete the bidding examination as fastest as possible and ensure its objectivity and honesty to submit to the owner for approval of the bidder winning.
