Clean water supply system donated to Birla orphans
Since April 2, 2008, a clean water supply system worth VND 43 million, and sponsored by the Tan Tao Group, has been operating to the benefit of the Birla Children Village (Hanoi).
On his visit to the Birla Children's Viullage (Hanoi), Mr. Dang Quang Hanh, Permanent Vice-President of Tan Tao Group, decided to sponsor the creation of a new water supply system for the inhabitants of the Village.
At the ceremony, grounded upon the perception of the necessity of a water filter system to improve the quality of life of the Birla Children's Village, Mr. Hanh, on the Group ‘s behalf, sponsored VND 43 million to the Village from ITA-s foundations.
Beforehand, on November 9, 2007, representative of Northern ITA-s generously donated VND 100 million to Birla Children Village, in which 43 million scholarships and 11 computers worth VND 55 million were delivered for the inhabitants benefit.
Birla Village - where orphans of the city of Hanoi are taken care of – was established on November 20, 1987 by Decision no. 5026/QD-UB of the Hanoi People’s Committee. It is under the direct administration of the Hanoi Department for Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs.
The orphanage was initially a gift from the Indian citizen – Professor Birla – General Director of the Cimco – Birla Industrial Corporation and his family to Hanoi People Committee when he paid a working visit to Vietnam in 1983.
