Poor students from the North will have access to better homes
Leaders of Dien Bien province and Tan Tao Group recently visited a construction site where a hostel is being built for poor students in a northern province.
The visit to the site was made by Mua A Son, member of the Provincial Standing Committee - Head of Dien Bien’s National Assembly Delegation, President of the provincial people’s Council, and Hoang Van Thanh, Chief Editor of Dien Bien Phu Newspaper along with the head of District Education & Training and Dang Quang Hanh, Permanent vice president of Tan Tao Group.
The building, which was started in January, is located in Dien Bien Dong District, Dien Bien province, northwestern Vietnam.
Tan Tao Group invested about 4 billion dong (USD 250.000) to build this hostel. It is hoped that the hostel will provide better living conditions for students studying at a local boarding school.
Mu A Son said that the hostel would “make a real difference to people’s lives”. Further, the completion of construction coincides with the celebrate of the 100th anniversary of province’s birthday, and the 55th anniversary victory of Vietnam over France in the well known battle Dien Bien Phu, the capital of Dien Bien Province.
Son was appreciative of Tan Tao Group’s contributions to the educational program for poor students in the province who have suffered from the after effects of war.
He also urged the district authority to create more hostels to provide favourable living and studying conditions for poor students. He also called on the contractor speed up the construction progress.
Dang Quang Hanh thanked the provincial leaders for their interests and help in carrying out this project so that students here will soon have better conditions in which to live and study.
He also asked the contractor to follow technical standards and ensure quality while executing the work. Meanwhile, he added that the contractor should look into how to minimize unnecessary costs in order to set up a computer lab for students.
Tan Tao Group established the ITA Foundation in September 2007 in order to provide financial support for an expansive range of programs in education, healthcare and charities nationwide.
