VND 135 Million Donated to Poor Teachers in Remote Northern Mountainous Areas

Between January 20 and 24, 2008, Mr. Dang Quang Hanh, Vice-President of Tan Tao Group, visited and presented gifts to teachers facing difficult challenges in remote northern mountainous areas in the ITA-Foundations program entitled “Supporting poor teachers in remote mountainous areas."

As part of the tour aimed at supporting dedicated teachers in remote mountainous areas, on the morning of January 20, 2008, Mr. Dang Quang Hanh gave VND 21 million in donations to 10 teachers in Luong Son district, Hoa Binh province.

Leaving Hoa Binh province, Mr. Hanh continued to Dien Bien the following day. On January 21, 2008, he and the Dien Bien Phu newspaper offered VND 61 million in donations to 28 teachers in Dien Bien. Gifts were worth VND 2-3 million subject to the specific circumstances of each teacher. Aware that teacher Pham Thi Thoa was in the last stages of cancer, Mr. Dang Quang Hanh came to her house in person and handed her a VND 5 million donation, raising the total value of the donations in Dien Bien to VND 63 million.

The tour ended in Lai Chau after three days. On the morning of January 24, 2008, Mr. Dang Quang Hanh met and offered 22 more donations to teachers in difficult circumstances with a total value of VND 51 million.

The program “Supporting poor teachers in remote mountainous areas” of ITA-Foundations provided a total of VND 135 million in donations to teachers in remote northern mountainous areas.
