Training workshop 2013 on fire fighting and safety for heads of companies in Tan Tao Industrial Park

On the morning of May 21, 2013, the training workshop on fire fighting and safety was held for heads of the companies operating in Tan Tao Industrial Park. Attending the workshop were representatives of the Fire Fighting Department of Binh Tan District, Mr. Thai Van Men, COO of Tan Tao Group and more than 150 leaders of companies in Tan Tao Industrial Park.

Due to the prolonged hot, dry season over the past months, the fire fighting and safety needs to be given the top priority. Through the training workshops, the companies have the opportunity to recognize and assess the situation, risk and their measures for fire fighting and safety measures.

According to the head of the fire fighting and safety department of Binh Tan District, it is important and practical for companies to ensure their regular fire safety self-inspection and control. New fire safety circulars and decrees were updated and disseminated to the companies at the workshop.

It is crucial that fire fighting and safety must be inspected by leaders of infrastructure developers and companies operating in industrial park – Export processing zones in line with the fire fighting and safety regulations and the Decree No. 35/2003/ND-CP of the Government. The inspection is required to be regularly carried out on a monthly basis to timely detect and prevent fire risks.

The most important is that new construction works, renovation or reparation works, works in change of the purpose of use shall be required to obtain fire safety approval before starting the construction and conducting takeover to be put into operation according to the regulations.

In addition, the companies are required to invest and pay attention to establish fire brigades with sufficient fire vehicles; to regularly organize training workshops on fire fighting and safety, maintenance of fire vehicles to timely tackle and control fires when reported.
