The Prime Minister has just issued the Decision No. 2154/QD-TTg establishing Tan Tao University. This is a private higher education institution having the legal person status and its own seal and bank account. The admitted students will spend their first three years at Tan Tao University and their final year in the renowned universities in the United States.

On November 17 2010, Agrita-Quang Nam Energy Corporation (Agritam) and lenders (Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam - BIDV, Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade – VietinBank, Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam - Agribank) held a credit agreement signing ceremony for Dakmi 2 Hydro Power Plant Project in Phuoc Son District, Quang Nam Province.

While national leaders are still debating and experimenting with building the first truly international quality university in Vietnam, accomplished business person and Chairwoman of Tan Tao Group, Ms. Dang Thi Hoang Yen, is pushing hard to create the first such university in Long An – named Tan Tao University (TTU). On the occasion of Teacher’s Day, People’s Military News has had a chance to visit TTU and learn of many unique, promising qualities that position TTU to be an agent of change for higher education in Vietnam.

In the evening of October 29, Mdm. Dang Thi Hoang Yen, Chairwoman & CEO of Tan Tao Group and Co-Chair of ASEAN-BIS 2010, attended the banquet hosted by Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and his wife to welcome the 18 heads of the state and government to the ASEAN Leaders Summit 2010 and the associated high-ranking conferences in Hanoi.

I appreciate and value the remarks of ASEAN General Secretary, Mr. Vu Tien Loc, Mr. Doan Duy Khuong and Ms. Dang Thi Hoang Yen.

ASEAN BIS 2011 which will be held in Indonesia, will continue to build on the achievements attained by this ASEAN BIS 2010, so that it will further strengthen the integration of the region and fulfill ASEAN as a unified community on the economic and political fronts, but also in the areas of security, defense and culture by 2015. Through these efforts, ASEAN region competitiveness will be further enhanced globally.

The world was going through a “Global Reset” and ASEAN managed through this economic storm very well. Even IMF latest estimates upgraded GDP of ASEAN region growth to 6.7%, an economic growth rate that many countries outside Asia will willingly trade places for.

Many newspapers ran headlines about her as: "The richest woman on Vietnam’s stock market", "Golden Rose ... billionaires," "Three billionaire siblings" ... In reality, all such titles are given to her as Ms. Yen never talks about herself. The story she shared with us is neither the way to get rich nor for the profits but the one I want to borrow the title of a famous novel of writer Nguyen Manh Tuan to talk about her: Woman ..."standing in front of the sea"!

With the desire of changing the conventional views of thermal power plants, Tan Tao Group is determined to develop Kien Luong Thermal Power Plant as a green, clean and beautiful symbol.

Kien Luong Thermal Power Complex Project, a national key project, has been attracting special public attention. Investment Newspaper’s reporter conducted an interview with Ms. Dang Thi Hoang Yen, Chairwoman of Tan Tao Group (ITACO) on the implementation of this project.
